I have an interesting one... I’ve been in an ongoing dispute with the company I worked for. They decided to offer me a severance which I agreed to and signed. However, they are now withholding payment because they received claims against them from the EEOC and state IHRC. They have asked me to sign a new agreement to release the hold on the agreed upon payment. I have informed them that I’m going to retain legal counsel because of their breach of contract and using coercive measures. Do I need to sign new agreement? Do I have a leg to stand on?
